Itinerary 1
Can Tho – Cai Be
Daily departures
Day 1 Saigon – Can Tho – Mang Thit (-/L/D)
Private transfer from hotel in Saigon to the Mekong Delta, popularly known as the “rice bowl” of Vietnam (approx. 4 hours, 200 km, without guide). Board the Bassac at Ninh Kieu pier in Can Tho at 12:00 pm. Welcome drink, introduction to the ship and crew, check into the cabins. Departure downstream the Hau River. Lunch is served on board. Tour near Tra On Floating Market.
Turning into Nicolai canal, towards the Mang Thit and Co Chien rivers. Rest on the upper deck and enjoy the scenery of rice fields, sugar cane and tropical plants on the near riverbanks. By mid-afternoon, the Bassac casts anchor for a visit on shore: Discover the peaceful life in the delta’s countryside. See rice fields, fruit trees and meet the locals. Enjoy the sunset back on board. Dinner is served while the Bassac is cruising Mang Thit River towards its anchorage point for the night.
Overnight onboard BASSAC BOAT (private cabin, boat with other passengers)

Day 2 Mang Thit – Cai Be – Saigon (B/-/-)
The boat cruises towards Cai Be in the early morning. Breakfast is served on deck. The Bassac crosses Co Chien River and branches into Cho Lach Canal. It takes approximately 30 minutes to cruise through the canal together with sand and rice barges. On the riverbanks you see fruit drying facilities and wooden ship building yards. Upon arrival in Cai Be, check-out and board a rowing boat for a tranquil visit of a small canal. Then visit to a handicraft workshop. The cruise finishes in Cai Be in the late morning. Private transfer back to Saigon (approx. 2.5 hours, 110 km, without guide) and drop-off at hotel or at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (with surcharge).

Cai Be – Can Tho
Daily departures
Day 1 Saigon – Cai Be – Tra On (-/L/D)
Private transfer without guide from hotel in Saigon to the Mekong Delta, popularly known as the “rice bowl” of Vietnam (approx. 2.5 hours, 110 km, without guide). Board the Bassac in Cai Be at 12:00 pm. Welcome drink, introduction to the ship and crew, check into the cabins. Departure towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang River. Lunch is served on board.
The Bassac branches into Cho Lach Canal. It takes approximately 30 minutes to cruise through the canal. Enjoy the hustle and bustle on the river and see markets and churches on the riverbanks. By mid-afternoon, the Bassac casts anchor for a visit on shore: Discover the peaceful life in a village in the delta’s countryside. See rice fields, fruit orchards and meet the locals. Enjoy the sunset back on board. Dinner is served while the Bassac is cruising Mang Thit River. The Bassac sets anchor for the night just downstream of the little Tra On Floating Market.

Day 2 Tra On – Can Tho – Saigon (B/-/-)
Breakfast is served from 06:30 am onwards, while the boat cruises around Tra On Floating Market. The Bassac then departs towards Can Tho. Upon arrival at Cai Rang Floating Market, check-out and board a smaller boat for a tour of the floating market and the visit of a noodle factory. The cruise finishes at Ninh Kieu Pier in Can Tho in the late morning. Private transfer back to Saigon (approx. 4 hours, 200 km, without guide) and drop-off at hotel or at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (with surcharge).
